For 44 years, La Dauphinelle has been supporting women and children who are victims of domestic and family violence through prevention services, community support, and first-stage (emergency) and second-stage (transitional and secure) shelter, as well as post-shelter support.

The Board of Directors supports the staff in meeting the needs of women and children to achieve concrete and measurable results.

What is the role of the Board of Directors and its members?
The Board of Directors consists of 13 multidisciplinary members and meets 6 to 8 times a year. In addition, members are asked to serve on working committees based on the organization’s priorities and action plan.

What qualifications are required to become a board member at La Dauphinelle?

• A commitment to advocating for the interests of women and children who are victims of domestic violence, post-separation domestic violence, and family violence;
• Ability to work as part of a team;Strong communication skills;
• Commitment to serving as an ambassador for La Dauphinelle;
• Ability to mobilize one’s network for philanthropic activities;
• Knowledge of community-based management is an asset;
• Availability to attend board and committee meetings;
