POST-HOUSING

Post-housing follow-up is offered to women who leave our first- or second-stage shelters. This service aims to finalize the steps they have taken during their stay and to support the family as they transition to their new neighborhood.

In addition to ensuring the family’s residential stability, our priority is to prevent post-separation violence. Our wide range of post-housing services include:

  • Civil and criminal legal aid
  • Family safety plan
  • Networking in the new neighborhood
  • Support with HLM and IVAC applications or other requests
  • Help with enrolling children in a new school

My marriage failed. I suffered greatly. I ended up hating who I had become, until the day I decided to stop living this way. I remembered what my mother had taught me. Nobody can change me, unless I want to change. I decide who I am and who I wish to become.
